Practice
Staff/Reception Staff
Our practice
manager and reception team are here to help and guide you. They are bound by a
code of absolute confidentiality and have been trained to take essential details
sympathetically. This allows them to inform the doctors of important information
about patients' queries.
Practice Nurse
Our practice nurse will see patients by appointment for new registrations, heart
disease, asthma, diabetes, COPD, hypertension, stroke and epilepsy. These clinics are
operated alongside a doctor.
The practice nurse will be pleased to give advice to those patients going abroad.
However, travel advice/vaccinations are not within the remit of the NHS and will
attract a charge.
District Nursing
The district nurses provide home nursing care and services for patients who are
unable to attend the surgery. Please do not request the services of our district
nurses if you are able to attend the surgery.
Health Visitors
Our health visitors routinely visit mothers and babies from 11 days old until
five years old. They advise on subjects such as child development, feeding and
immunisations.
Midwife
Our midwife can help you with all aspects of care prior to conceiving, during
your pregnancy and in the first 10 days following your baby's delivery, or longer
if required. She is present during antenatal, postnatal and well women clinics
at the health centre.
Teaching Practice
Our practice is a training/teaching practice. Our registrars are fully qualified
and have a great deal of hospital experience. Registrars are attached to our practice
for 12 months. When booking an appointment you may be asked if you would consult
with one of our registrars.
